Description

In the city of Pristina, visual pollution in public spaces has become a significant concern, especially regarding the way the applied media reinforces this phenomenon. This paper investigates the impact of advertisements, signs, and other visual elements on the aesthetic and functional perception of the city, mainly in the part of the residence that interferes with the appearance of the residence. Through case study analysis and direct observation data collection methodology, it is intended to identify visual forms and provide recommendations for their management and regulation. The results show that unplanned interventions in public spaces not only negatively affect the quality of urban life, but also create an unstable image of cities and the capital. Furthermore, it determines the degree of visual pollution in a protected area - trends in location, size, shape, symmetry, balance, repetition, and distance as elements of intercity design and impact on the environment and perception. In both analyzed countries some rules would not bring the desired effects regarding advertising policy. Advertising devices are present in settlements at important road points, and entrances to tourism-related facilities. A point of concern is that they are often placed in the most valuable areas of the suburbian landscape. This research increases professionals' understanding of visual pollution and its effects on the visual environment, equipping them with effective measures to reduce its impact and maintain visual quality in both urban and Keywords: Advertising, design, visual space, visual pollution natural areas.
