Abstract

This paper presents and analyses the current state of the energy sector in Kosova. It assesses the potential for development, and investigates the needs of the sector. Kosova’s energy sector is in a dire state presenting an obstacle for economic development of the country. The sector is not compliant with international standards and codes and has negative consequences for both system operators and consumers. In addition, this paper presents a general overview of energy production and use in the region, and discusses the possibility for coalescence. In conclusion, the report presents a few possible scenarios for the development of the energy sector.
