Sustainable Urban Development Management System: What about Albania!

Session

Architecture and Spatial Planning

Description

Sustainable Urban Development is already a challenge for developing countries. For these purposes, for years, our region has to deal with the realities left by previous systems. Currently, Albania has established its transitional and developmental period in the area of territorial regulation and social environments. In this respect, apart from the difficulties, there have been many experiments, short-term, mid-term and long-term development projects, which has already improved the legal framework, competencies, management, and also balanced and standard investments. Now, there is clearly visible improvement to the reality of the current policy goals that along the integration could have implemented the strategies developed for a sustainable long-term of urban planning and development through decentralization of competences based on territorial reform where management is done by the municipalities.
