Comparison of geophysical measurements with geotechnical measurements for the possibility of using Krileva’s andesite as construction material

Session

Civil Engineering, Infrastructure and Environment

Description

Processing of construction materials for wide use is not only a constant challenge, but it is also an engineering task that continuously as a scientific task, inventing new research and testing methods. In this paper we attempted to use geophysical data from electromagnetic measurements to determine the values of the volcanic rocks, of the Krilevo region, in addition to the data obtained from the labs for physicochemical and chemical tests, for the possibility of using as construction materials in wide range. Thus, the aim of this paper is to compare the data and the possibility of using electromagnetic data for these types of research. The Krilevo and Artana volcanoes, belongs to a relatively new geological age, so called Tertiary. Also, all mineralization of Pb-Zn, Au and Ag of the Artana’s mineralization is related to Tertiary volcanism. Tertiary volcanoes have a wide spread in the area of Artana, while subject of this study will be only Krileva’s Andesitic rocks (α).
