Public relations is a way of conveying the message to the public, with the sole purpose of influencing its opinion. Various institutions, organizations or companies use public relations tools and techniques to communicate effectively with customers, employees, investors and the community in order to show case their products and services. This paper aims to investigate the role of public relations in higher education institutions, marketing strategies used in relation to the public, as well as the way of promotion and the impact that promotion has through the public relations offices of higher education institutions. In function of this goal will be done the analysis of some institutions of higher education and the way of developing their communication with the public in a certain period, which will serve in the elaboration of the topic.
