Description
The ever-increasing role of technology in the teaching-learning process in a global multicultural society can hardly be overestimated. The society is facing continuous challenges related to the competition, globalization and the demand from the job market for qualified employees. These challenges go side by side with the transformation of the education sector, where a great deal is being invested on the use of ICT, mass education, and the introduction of new methods and tools of teaching. Technological platforms are diverse, among which e-learning (described as the application of broadband internet and computers that assist teaching and learning) constitutes an essential innovation. This study focuses on the general features of e-learning tools and their advantages in the teaching process. A view of the use of e-Learning and the approach to e-Learning in Albanian universities, and also of the government and universities policies has been presented. This article also considers the role of technological tools used in e-learning as a safe medium towards an advancing learning process in Albania.
