Non-renewable energy sources are threatening the environment and people therefore the world in the 21st century is turning to renewable energy sources. Our country has a great potential of renewable resources in the field of solar energy utilization. This paper aims to describe the process of gaining electricity using solar cells in order to examine the changes in the system that are affecting their performance and to explore the level of awareness of the presence and usefulness of this system. Moreover, in this paper we will also examine the impact of the use of solar systems in different aspects of human life as well as methods used to exploit solar systems, highlighting the benefits of using this system. In order to achieve the purpose of the paper, various scientific literature related to the subject has been studied. This paper aims to raise the awareness in our country on the importance of using solar systems, in preserving natural fossil resources as well as well as in preserving environment, having known that pollution is a result of today’s production of the energy using non-renewable sources, namely thermal power plants.
