Modern media challenge, the battle to be the first
Session
Journalism, Media and Communication
Description
Rapid technological developments over the last two decades have brought major changes to different aspects of life, including media and journalism. In addition to technological developments we are facing the need for changes in media policies, the way of writing, broadcasting, journalism etc. Today almost everything is digitized, which has significantly affected the way how we get information. The appearance of on-line media has completely changed journalism, whereas modern media is rapidly replacing traditional one. New media expanded communication space and increased interaction. Everyone today can play the role of a journalist and we can have the information we need within minutes. Though the advantages are numerous, new media faces lack of ethics and professionalism, as the need for speed has left some of the key elements of genuine journalism sidelined.
