Study Objective: This paper focuses on the cooperation of local government units in the field of finance. Proper co-operation of local government units, ensuring and realizing the financial means is an important factor for the successful development, organization and operation of local government in a country. Methods used: In this paper, historical, sociological, statistical and comparative methods have been used. Conclusions: Local government co-operation is one of the basic characteristics of local governance. Local government units should collaborate with other units of local government, with central government, international organizations and funds, and also with local government units of other states - the brotherhood of local government units. Local government units should co-operate also with Local Government Association Associations.
