Design of recursive digital filters (IIR)
Session
Mechatronics, System Engineering and Robotics
Description
Active filters today represent the crucial element in electronic devices, especially the ones that transmit signals and select them based on frequencies assigned for different purposes. Active filters, while emitting signals through it, make the signal strength component stronger, while undesirable components of that signal weaken. The active filters are four-pole elements. The main topic of the study are the digital filters, but electronic filters (composed of resistors, capacitors and/or inductances) are also discussed. All analog filters are of type IIR (Infinite Impulse Response). Using MATLAB programming package, active IIR filters were analyzed. These filters have found great application in many inverted linear time systems (LTI systems). This study of digital filters IIR investigates the application of different solutions from literature review such as the method of approximating the analog filters of Cebishev, Butherworth and elliptical with certain parameters. In attidition, the same filters have been analyzed using MATLAB programming package in order to give recommendations what their performance should be, so that we have the least weakness of the output signal.
