Analysis of Accidents in The Construction Sector in Kosovo

The number of accidents at the workplace in the construction sector in Kosovo unforntunately is increasing every year, in this study different factors have been analyzed that are causing these accidents in the construction sector in Kosovo, especially those with fatality. A detailed study of the existing safety situation in the construction sector has been performed by more than 120 costruction companies and sites under construction in Pristina (capital city) and some other cities around Kosovo. By analisyng these factor, some improvments have been proposed which will tent to change actual situation in this sector. The main purpose of this paper was to identify the main fators of accidents that have occurred in the construction sector in Kosovo, respecting the safety rules and factors that can prevent accidents, aiming for “zero accidents” where imporvments for the companies should be taken. In this paper appropriate conditions are proposed to achieve different solutions for this problem, some helpful steps should be taken by the construction companies to respect constrction rules and safety laws at work site.
