Inequalities: A More Comprehensive Approach Needed

Session

Political Science

Description

The fight for equal opportunity should be put in a new light. In the end inequalities are manifested by the differences in the life conditions of individuals. The lack of the ability or, to be more precise the lack of phronesis (Aristotle), to consider that is one of the most serious shortcomings of the approaches in vogue today. What is needed is a comprehensive approach based on “real thinking”. A new interpretation of globalization provides an opportunity to point out the global and social factors responsible for inequalities, explore their nature and find a way to eliminate the problems with lack of real thinking. To design successful policies to fight inequalities there is a need for knowledge reaching way beyond the boundaries of economic sciences. It requires disciplines which help large masses of people to realize that internal social-economic inequalities are external ones as well.
