Options for connecting of reinforcement bars by mechanical couplers

Description
In this paper are talking about couplers for connecting of reinforcement bars and options of using of them. The mechanical connecting of reinforcement bars instead of overlapping is option proposed by new Rule Book for reinforced concrete in Montenegro. This regulation instructed to using mechanical couplers for reinforcement according to the technical specification for production and proofing of conformity or according to the design of reinforced concrete structures. Different solutions for using of mechanical couplers for reinforcement, that apply in meantime at European and other spaces, are not quite comply with overall regulation for building products. Testing procedure of connections and treatment of connecting as system are atypical. All of elements and connections as system shall be tested. Necessary tests and solutions will be commented on in the paper.
