Description

Development of online learning platforms has been taking place for some time now however rapid increase of online learning and teaching has taken place in 2020 during COVID- 19 pandemic. However, many platforms already had in place their concepts and needed tools, security and training for the teachers and users (students) presented a challenge due to short introduction and application of self-teaching system, therefore, becoming vulnerable. Rapid transformation from a traditional format into a digital system leaves many sensitive and private information vulnerable to faults. This paper analyses current trends of transformation, security application and specific platforms failing to ensure privacy and data protection as well as lack of institutions training their teaching workforce and students to avoid attacks and protect school infrastructure such as teacher and student data. Another issue that this paper address is the dedicated funding and training necessity for now and the future of the new education method online that will be a new way of teaching and learning.
