Psychological changes in patients after being diagnosed with cancer

Description
The main aim of this research was to analize the psychological changes that occur in patients after being diagnosed with cancer disease. To achieve this objective we have used quantitative method as the main methodological approach. The research includes a sample of 55 people – 20 of them are male and 35 female. Patients are from different countries of Kosovo and they are mostly advantaged in age. The results of this research have shown that 32% of women tend to experience more feelings of boredom, compared to 10% of male. Furthermore, women tend to manifest more feelings of experiencing the situation after being diagnosed with cancer disease and they are freer to communicate openly with family members about this disease, comparing to males. Moreover, the research made us understand that 71% of participating patients have never received psychological support. Participating patients in the research have appeared high level of stigma and prejudices toward the obtain psychological services.
