The EDA industry is a very complex, dynamic, and unstable industry. During the years companies have been challenged to continuously find ways of survival and competitiveness. Innovativeness and dynamic capability to adapt to technological changes have been quite important for organizations. For years the USA has been the leading country in this area. Most of the talents, knowledge, and innovation has come from organizations operating in this part of the world. Nowadays, due to technological war between countries, and due to changes in the political arena, and with the importance technology has gain, European Union, Germany, China, Taiwan has started to invest in their workforces and to challenge the current market balance of this oligopoly industry. This paper focuses on identifying macro-level factors that impact the companies that operate in the industry. PESTEL framework is used to give an organized view of the factors and the Analytical Hierarchical Process technique is used to rate and identify the most important ones
