Description
From the known classics until the authors of the 21st century, the meditation over the definition of art was, and still is, one of the essential matters of its treatment and philosophical mentality. In general, the philosophy of art and its dialectics has given a wide space to the treatment and the definition of art, the way of their production, the values and phenomena created by the self existence of art in general. In this paper we will unfold, in a philosophical and aesthetical way, the map of different ideas about the definition of art. The topic treats and includes, with a special focus, the remarkable viewpoints of the modern thought of three authors of “Matters of aesthetics”, who have chosen a completely different way of treatment and definition of art and especially the artist. These two notions – the second more than the first- are already part of our social discourse because the words art and artist, often, are not understood properly and are especially reserved only for some personalities, products and artistic activities.
