Description
This paper aims to investigate the role of self-assessment and peer-assessment in enhancing English writing skills. Through a review of current research and case studies, the study will examine how these assessment methods contribute to improved writing proficiency, self-regulation, and learner autonomy. Self-assessment encourages students to critically evaluate their own work, fostering a deeper understanding of writing conventions and personal progress. Peer-assessment, on the other hand, provides diverse feedback, promoting collaborative learning and critical thinking. The goal of this study is to investigate the impact of self-assessment and peer-assessment on the enhancement of English writing skills. The study seeks to provide insights into the effectiveness of self and peer evaluations in fostering a deeper understanding of writing conventions, improving writing quality, and promoting reflective practices among students. Finally, this study explores ways to find practical strategies for integrating these assessments into the classroom, highlighting their potential to create a supportive and interactive learning environment that enhances overall writing competence.
