Designing an eclectic house using principles and concepts of Japandi style

Session

Architecture and Spatial Planning

Description

Designing an "Eclectic individual house" aesthetically appealing and also suitable for the needs of the residents is challenging. In a period where the dynamics and fast pace of modern life cause negative psychological effects, this study focuses on creating a space that is safe and relaxing. This has been achieved through conversations with family members and other important individuals in my social life, to identify the characteristics that will make the home more welcoming and comfortable. In this regard colors, materials and combinations are carefully chosen to ensure that the house maintains a unique and special identity, integrating the aesthetics of Japandi style—a mixture of Japanese and Scandinavian spirit—with elements of maximalism. This process aims to create a harmony between minimalism and maximalism, offering a space that is simple and at the same time rich in character. This study aims to highlight the most attractive features and characteristics of these different styles and show how a house can be developed in an environment that responds to the needs of functionality and aesthetics, while maintaining adistinct and sustainable identity. The paper aims to illustrate that designing a house using japandi style not only fulfills its primary function as a shelter, but also provides a strong sense of character and individuality, demonstrating that the harmonization of different styles can contribute to the creation of a rich and restrained architecture.
