This study explores the role and significance of forensic methods within the field of criminalistics, with a particular focus on the context of Kosovo. In an era where crime is becoming increasingly complex and organized, the application of modern scientific and technological methods is essential in the fight against criminal activity. Forensics, as a key supporting discipline in criminal investigations, assists in the collection, preservation, analysis, and interpretation of physical evidence, thereby making the investigative process more accurate and reliable. The aim of this research is to provide a clear overview of how forensic methods contribute to the identification and resolution of criminal offenses in Kosovo. The paper examines the relationship between criminalistics and forensic science, emphasizing the need for well-trained human resources, advanced technical equipment, and a multidisciplinary approach to investigations. It also addresses the historical development of forensic science both globally and within Kosovo. The study highlights the necessity of improving the technical-scientific capacities of investigative institutions in order to enhance the efficiency of the criminal justice system. Furthermore, it underlines the importance of keeping these institutions aligned with ongoing scientific and technological advancements, ensuring the application of internationally standardized methods in criminal investigations.In conclusion, this research aims to contribute to a deeper understanding of the critical role forensic methods play in evidentiary processes and to offer recommendations for their further advancement and effective adaptation within the specific conditions of Kosovo’s criminal justice system.
