Victimology as a Path to Understanding Mental Health: Supporting Victims in Kosovo
Session
Psychology
Description
Victimology helps us understand how individuals experience harm and how society’s response affects recovery. Collective support promotes healing, whereas judgment, stigma and isolation, can hinder this support. This study examines how victimology offers an insight into these experiences, and how important public perception is to these issues. Additionally, it aims to look into how media representation and reporting in Kosovo can influence these views. By analyzing qualitative data, interviews and media content this research will explore how victims are perceived. These findings underscore the need to promote ethical reporting, stronger institutional support and increased awareness.
