Description

Anxiety is one of the most prevalent mental health concerns among adolescents, significantly impacting their well-being and daily functioning. This study explores the level of anxiety among adolescents aged 15-18 in the city of Prizren, focusing on differences by gender, age groups, and type of school (public vs. private). The methodology employs a quantitative approach, with data collected using the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI), a well-known instrument for measuring anxiety symptoms. The study included 60 students from two high schools, one public and one private, comprising 31 girls and 29 boys. The findings aim to shed light on how demographic and environmental factors influence the experience of anxiety, providing a foundation for tailored interventions to improve mental wellbeing. This research underscores the importance of awareness and support from educational institutions, families, and society in addressing the emotional needs of adolescents and helping them cope with the challenges of this life stage.
