Abstract

Purpose - The integration of digital technologies into the healthcare system is essential for improving both operational efficiency and quality of services. This study examines the relationship between digital transformation management and organizational performance in the healthcare sector in Albania, with particular focus on the mediating role of leadership in digital transformation and the digital skills of the healthcare staff. Methodology - The study employ a quantitative method through a structured questionnaire using a Likert scale, which was distributed to 93 healthcare sector employees in public and private institutions in Albania. Findings - Data collected through the survey were analyzed using the SPSS program, including reliability testing (Cronbach’s Alpha), descriptive statistics, factor analysis, correlation analysis, multiple linear regression, and analysis of variance (ANOVA). Results show that digital transformation management is relatively high correlated with organizational performance (R = 0.846 and Cronbach’s Alpha = 0.946). Furthermore, both leadership and digital skills had a significant mediating effect, highlighting their key role in the successful implementation of digital transformations. Conclusion – Based on these findings, it is important to emphasize on the significance of digital transformation management in achieving sustainable digital objectives and improvements in the healthcare system. The study provides valuable empirical evidence for policymakers and healthcare administrators so as to assist the efforts made to modernize the digital infrastructure in Albania
