Biomorphological Features in Kosovo and Their Genetic Structure

Session

Medical, Dental and Pharmaceutical Sciences

Description

To observe the spread of bio-morphological qualities in the population of Kosovo, have been taken samples from different cities like Lipjan, Peja, Gjakova, Prizren. In the research have also been engaged the Stomatology and Pharmacy students of UBT. These qualities have been gathered by interviewing families in the mentioned cities. As bio-morphologic qualities included in this study are: Black or blue eyes, free or adjacent ear, plugged or unplugged tongue, left arm over right or the right over the left, the right thumb of the hand over the left and vice versa, is the pointed finger smaller than the finger of ring or vice versa and the blood groups. By making the frequencies’ calculations of the dominant-recessive genotype, than dominant and recessive allele, as well as by comparing the obtained results, we can give an opinion about genetic changes or similarities within population of Kosovo. In this study, 460 individuals were included for each quality involved, whereas for the blood groups where Rhesus factor was researched, 330 individuals were evident.
