Description
Many research activities have been done by different agencies and institutions about the factors that affect the state of the wood processing industry in Kosovo, so far. These factors, essentially cover the mechanism of the supply chain, starting from the condition and the health of timber in the forests of Kosovo to the export of furniture to the international market. But despite these efforts, we can say that little attention has been paid to one of the key factors, namely the implementation of the knowledge in wood processing to increase the added value as a competitive advantage; it is worth mentioning that the wood industry, in particular, furniture production is one of the most profitable branches of the country's economy. Accordingly, this paper attempts to come up with additional information based on empirical results obtained through research that would bring to light the current level of design used in the furniture manufacturing sector in Kosovo, bringing up the positive global experiences as a useful reference in the implementation of innovative technology and the identification of the most appropriate recommendations for achieving competitive advantages of small mobile manufacturing enterprises in the market. The ultimate objective of the paper is to highlight the influence of design in increasing the competitive advantages of small enterprise Kosovar mobile manufacturers in the either local or international market.
