Description
This study evaluates the advantages and disadvantages of various thermal insulation materials throughout their life cycle, from production to recycling. The environmental impact during production is assessed by measuring greenhouse gas emissions in carbon dioxide equivalents. The study has been focused on three main thermal insulating 117 materials - EPS, PUR and Mineral Wool, which are more commonly applied in the market of the Republic of Kosovo. A combination of comparisons methods has been applied to identify investment costs differences, thermal properties, recycling possibilities and fire resistance of these materials. The results reflect clearly the advantages and disadvantages of treated thermal insulating materials, by presenting clear and measurable results.
