Journalism, Media and Communication

Description

With a young population and widespread internet access, Kosovo presents a favorable media landscape for the development of 21st-century radio. However, most radio stations have not aligned their development with the concept that the future of radio is the internet, not on the internet. Through personal observation and in depth semi structured interviews, this paper analyzes the period when radio in Kosovo is searching for its new identity, transitioning from a major media platform for large audiences to a communicative medium in a networked society. The paper argues that the main issue for radio stations in Kosovo is the failure to adapt content to the new formats and opportunities offered by the internet.
