The priority of the Government of Kosovo, for integration into the European Union, is closely related to the Implementation Agreement for Stabilization and Association, namely Article 77, which obliges the Republic of Kosovo to create a functional system of copyright enforcement, where it is required to a similar level of protection to that of the EU countries is achieved within a five-year period and harmonization of the country's legislation with that of the Acquis Communitare. The full harmonization of legislation with EU directives in the field of copyright, were fully transposed with the new legislation, as follows: Directive 2014/26/EU on Collective Management of copyright; EU Directive 2017/1564 on allowing certain uses for the needs of blind, visually impaired or other print users; EU Regulation 2017/1563 on cross-border exchange for the needs of persons who are blind, visually impaired or otherwise limited in print; EU Regulation 2017 EU Directive 2019/790 on Copyright and Related Rights in the Digital Single Market. The new law on copyright and related rights has regulate copyright and related rights, respectively, the relations arising from this field between different subjects. Also, the new Law ensures a high level of copyright protection, regulates the status of the Anti-Piracy Task Force, which consists of the Copyright Office, the Industrial Property Agency, the Kosovo Customs, the Market Inspectorate, Kosovo Police, and the Prosecution Council; provides opportunities for the resolution of copyright disputes through alternative means such as mediation and arbitration, improves the operating environment of copyright in the digital market, online platforms and cable television. Therefore, this is the reason that this paper aims to provide a general analysis of novelties of the new Law on copyright and related rights in Kosovo
