Employee satisfaction: The interaction of work-life balance and job performance

Session

Psychology

Description

This paper investigates the relationship between job satisfaction, work-life balance, and work experience among employees in Kosovo. The study aims to determine how these variables interact and influence each other, contributing to overall employee well-being and organizational outcomes. Using quantitative research methods, data were collected from 150 participants through structured questionnaires, including the Minnesota Job Satisfaction Questionnaire and the Work-Life Balance Scale. The results indicate a significant positive correlation between job satisfaction and work-life balance, suggesting that employees who achieve a better balance between their work and personal lives tend to experience higher levels of job satisfaction. Additionally, the study explores the impact of sociodemographic factors such as gender and age, finding limited influence on the main variables. These findings align with existing literature, emphasizing the critical role of work-life balance in enhancing employee satisfaction and organizational productivity. This paper contributes to existing literature and best practices and adds the context of the Western Balkans, specifically Kosovo. The paper concludes with recommendations for organizations to implement policies that support work-life balance, such as flexible working hours and remote work options, to foster a more satisfied and productive workforce. Future research should explore additional socio-demographic factors and use a more diverse sample to understand these relationships further.
