Results: Based on the analyzed research, the most important factor is gender. Women (0.20) have a higher risk of knee injuries compared to men (0.07). An important factor is also the basketball position, female players in the wing positions had ACL surgeries (17.4%) unlike to the players of the guard positions (15.6%) or the center positions (8.6%). Also, the neuromuscular training program has reduced the knee injury rate in young basketball players by 36% with p=0.01 significance. Conclusions: Gender, basketball position, age, rapid uncontrolled landings are factors that lead to knee injuries in basketball players, as well as neuromuscular training programs have an important effect in preventing the risk of knee injuries
