Identification of Triage Methods in Emergency Cases in the Municipality of Kamenica

Session

Medicine and Nursing

Description

Objective: This research aims to examine the level of knowledge, practical application, and attitudes of nurses in the municipality of Kamenica regarding the implementation of triage methods, as well as to identify areas for improvement and the need for support from healthcare institutions. Methodology: This study employed a quantitative method using a questionnaire consisting of 15 structured questions based on a five-level Likert scale. The questionnaire was physically distributed to nurses at the Main Family Medicine Center (QKMF) in Kamenica and the Family Medicine Ambulance (AMF) in Roganë. Out of 50 questionnaires distributed, 45 were returned completed within a two-week period. Results: The data showed that although there is a moderate awareness of the importance of triage, the practical application of modern methods and standardized protocols remains limited. Results indicated that 33% of nurses frequently use standardized schemes, 33% use them occasionally, 18% rarely, and 7% never. These findings reflect variability in the use of triage protocols and suggest the need for further training and improvements in their implementation. Conclusions: This study highlights the need for institutional intervention, including structured training, investment in infrastructure, and the harmonization of triage protocols across all healthcare centers in the municipality of Kamenica.
