Description

The history of the Balkans from ancient times until today is filled with many conflicts between its peoples. What we will analyze in this paper is the history of many centuries of conflicts between the Albanians as the most ancient people of the Balkans and the descendants of the Illyrians on the one hand and the Slavic Serbs on the other who settled in the Balkan peninsula during the sixth and seventh centuries. Our focus of the study will be on the rights of Albanians in Serbia and Serbs in Kosovo from a comparative perspective with special emphasis on their situation after the Kosovo war and the organization of various conferences and ongoing Albanian-Serbian talks. It should be emphasized that the national rights of both respective ethnic groups are regulated by the constitutions of both countries and we have to analyze them and come up with our own conclusions.

We also think of building an online survey on the internet in google.doc format and through the answers of the respondents to get the results which we will present and discuss in the paper. The target will be both ethnic groups because that's the only way we will get more accurate results.

We will also draw conclusions and recommendations which we think should be taken into account by decision-makers in both countries. We will use literature from all sources, such as Albanian and Serbian, but also from foreign authors who have dealt with this issue, as well as sources from the Internet, especially those related to large international organizations and larger information houses such as local ones as well as international ones.
