Systematic Approach to Performance Improvement of Installation and Maintenance of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC): The Case of Kosova Businesses
Session
Mechatronics, System Engineering and Robotics
Description
This research consists of technical and managerial studies of the Heating, Cooling and Air Conditioning System (HVAC). The research goal is oriented towards identification of key elements influencing the improvement of installation and maintenance of the HVAC system and management thereof. The research work is accomplished by combining the qualitative and quantitative methods. Theoretical-qualitative method conducted by reviewing and analysing the literature. Quantitative method by observation and interviews conducted in companies for installation and maintenance of HVAC systems. Theoretical qualitative methodology defines the identification and selection of key HVAC elements from the literature and case studies. The observational method and the interview / questionnaire as quantitative research methodology have been developed in a way that all works at 32 businesses are closely followed. The SWOT analysis, which is built from matrices generated from observation process and displayed in graphs, has enabled us to determine the position of HVAC installation and maintenance companies in the labour market in Kosovo by clarifying the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats thereof. Finally, the conclusion of this paper covers the improvement of the engineering and managerial deficiencies of the HVAC system and companies involved in this work.
